Pak-US 'counter-terrorism' dialogue to be held in June

Acting US envoy Baker condemns recent terrorist attack on Jaffar Express and other incidents; PM's aide holds meeting with top US officials; 18 American spy agencies declare TTP as 'potential future threat'

Pakistan and the United States will hold counter-terrorism dialogue in June this year.

This was agreed during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and acting US Ambassador to Islamabad Natalie Baker. During the meeting, Pakistan-US relations, matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation were discussed in detail.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi held meetings with top US officials in Washington discussing ways to promote bilateral relations, especially cooperation in the fields of trade and investment.

Officials said that Natalie Baker condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express and expressed grief. She expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs who lost their lives in these attacks. Both sides also discussed multiple cooperation in counterterrorism efforts.

A limited Sector for Interior Talal Ali Raza, US Political Counselor Zach Markenkirder and Interior Secretary Khurram Agha were also present during the meeting.
