Pakistan never requested for ceasefire: Military spokesman

The Pakistani army hit 26 Indian military facilities and it never requested a ceasefire with India during the armed conflict with India, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said.
Flanked by Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Chaudhry shared details of the “Operation Bunyan um Marsoos” with the media at a news conference late on Sunday night.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump has said that he prevented a nuclear war between Pakistan and India.
Speaking to media at White House, the US president said: “We stopped a nuclear conflict. I think it could have been a bad nuclear war, millions of people could have been killed. So I'm very proud of that.”
Responding to a question about the ceasefire, ISPR spokesperson clarified that Pakistan never requested it. “Put it on record” that Pakistan “never requested for a ceasefire,” he said. “On the night of May 6 and 7, after those dastardly attacks were made, Indians requested and Pakistan gave a very clear response that we will communicate back only after we have given the response that this act deserves.”
