NCB busts 'India's largest dark web drug cartel' in Kochi

KOCHI: In a major breakthrough, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Kochi unit busted what it termed, 'India's most prolific darknet drug syndicate' operating under the name "Ketamelon.
NCB officers arrested Edison, 35, a native of Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district and another person (identity not revealed) in connection with the drug haul.
According to NCB, Edison is currently the largest darknet vendor of drugs in India and is the country’s only ‘Level 4’ darknet vendor who has been operating actively over the past two years.
Edison was presented before the court and subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
In the operation codenamed “MELON”, the NCB seized large quantities of LSD and ketamine -1,127 LSD blots (a small piece of absorbent paper impregnated with lysergic acid diethylamide, or LSD) and 131.66 grams of ketamineas well as crypto assets worth Rs7 million.
