NAB sets historic record of recovering Rs8,397b in over 2 years

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has achieved an unprecedented milestone by recovering record amounts in corruption, fraud, and illegal government land allocations over the past two and a half years, sources said.

According to officials, the NAB recovered Rs8,397 billion from March 2023 to October 2025, which is the largest recovery in the country’s history.

To put this into perspective, from its inception in 1999 to February 2023-a period of 23 years-NAB had recovered only Rs883 billion. This signifies that recoveries, within the last two and a half years, have increased tenfold, highlighting a period of unprecedented institutional performance.

Officials said that the bureau anticipates an additional Rs2,000 billion recoveries by the end of this year, which would further increase the total recovery figures.
