Man retains cash wrongly credited to account, fined

DUBAI: The Misdemeanour and Violations Court in Dubai convicted an Asian national of seizing Dhs13,000, which was mistakenly transferred to his account, and he refused to return the amount.
The court ordered him to return Dhs13,000 to the money to its owner.
The case dates back to December 2024, when a woman accidentally transferred Dhs13,000 to the suspect’s account via her bank account.
Upon realising her mistake, she instantly contacted him and demanded the return of her money, but he refused. After several unsuccessful attempts, she filed an official complaint with the authorities, accusing him of illegally seizing her money.
