As the festive season approaches, many are grappling with the mounting financial pressures of gift-giving, social events and travel, exacerbated by a challenging economic climate.

With a tough job market, rising student loan and credit card debt, and persistent inflation driving up prices, financial strain is a widespread concern.Financial therapist Lindsay Bryan-Podvin, host of the Mind Money Balance podcast, notes that this feeling of overwhelm is far from uncommon. She advises using the holidays as an opportunity to be particularly mindful of spending, reminding individuals that monetary outlays are not the sole measure of affection for friends and family, according to The Independent.

Bryan-Podvin explained, “We add on all of the years of nostalgia and pressure that we put on the holidays to meet some sort of picture-perfect version.”
