The House of Wisdom (HoW) in Sharjah invites you to attend and cover its participation in the 44th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025, taking place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 12:00pm at the Expo Centre Sharjah, Hall 5 Stand Number M17.

The HoW pavilion features three main sections.

The first section presents a trilingual video installation (Arabic, Greek, and English) that traces the translation movement through which Greek sciences were transmitted into Arabic.

The second section showcases rare artwork by Yahya ibn Mahmud Al Wasiti from Maqamat al-Hariri (1237 CE).

The third section displays a curated collection of rare manuscripts and books from the House of Manuscripts in Sharjah, documenting the intellectual dialogue between the two civilizations in philosophy, logic, medicine, engineering, and mathematics.

Among the notable manuscripts are: The Hatimi Epistle on Al-Mutanabbi's Poetry in Relation to Aristotle's Wisdom by Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Baghdadi al-Hatimi; Isagoge by Athir Al-Din Al-Abhari; and Treatise on the Use of the Astronomical Sphere by Qusa ibn Luqa al-Balabakki. The pavilion also features the first printed edition of The Canon of Medicine by Ibn Sina (Rome, 1593), and the first edition of Euclid’s Elements (Liber Elementorum).

The 44th edition of the SIBF welcomed Greece as its Guest of Honour, bringing one of the world’s most influential literary and artistic cultures to Sharjah.
