Fog, drop in temperature likely today: NCM

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts a decline in temperature, accompanied by the potential for fog formation over the northern areas and dust-raising winds on Friday.

This can be attributed to the atmospheric influences of a surface low pressure system originating from the east, accompanied by a high pressure system emanating from the west, along with an extension of a high pressure system in the upper atmosphere, the NCM said.

It also indicated that the highest temperature recorded in the country on Thursday, was 49.1°C in Muzayri’ah (Al Dhafra region) at 6:00am.

The NCM also stated that the maximum temperatures will be in the range between 35°C-43°C, and the minimum between 23°C-33°C.

The weather on Friday is expected to clear and partly cloudy in the eastern areas, accompanied by a further decline in temperatures.
