Employee sues employer after 21-year working relationship

The Abu Dhabi Labour Court - First of Instance - has ordered an employer to pay Dhs13,611 in compensation to an employee who had worked for the company for over 21 years.

The dismissal occurred without settling the employee's entitlements, which included the end-of-service gratuity, annual leave allowance, and overdue wages.

The plaintiff initiated legal action against his employer, seeking a judgment that mandates the payment of his overdue salaries for two months, totalling Dhs16,000. Additionally, he demanded an end-of-service gratuity amounting to Dhs130,000 and an annual leave allowance for approximately five years, valued at Dhs13,000. He also requested that the ruling include fees, expenses, and immediate enforcement.
