Cyber cops to probe campaign against IUML’s Sadiq Ali Shihab

Cyber police in Kerala have registered a case after a malicious social media campaign targeting Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, the president of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in the state.
The police action came after the party leadership filed a formal complaint regarding serious sexual allegations against Thangal made by an anonymous Facebook account using Al-generated images.
IUML is the second-largest constituent of the Congress party-led United Democratic Front (UDF), and the malicious campaign is believed to be aimed at the party, which is engaged in intense campaigning for the April 9 state elections.
