Opposition Congress party on Tuesday filed a police complaint against Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Tourism Suresh Gopi, the lone MP of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Kerala, who represents Thrissur parliamentary constituency, alleging massive electoral fraud in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
-
Former Thrissur MP TN Prathapan filed a complaint seeking a criminal investigation against the actor-turned-politician on the charge of filing a false affidavit claiming more than six months’ domicile in the parliamentary constituency ahead of filing his nomination in the 2024 general elections.
He alleged that Gopi, along with II family members, was added to the supplementary voters' list issued after the final roll, on the basis of this false affidavit.
“Therefore, his vote is fake and invalid. A criminal case should be registered against him. His vote should be cancelled,” he said.
