Al Jazira end winless streak; Kalba edge Ajman in five-goal thriller

Al Jazira ended a six-match win-less run with a convincing 2-0 win over Al Bataeh on Tuesday at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium, in Matchweek 24 of the ADNOC Pro League.

The home side struck early and never looked back. In just the 5th minute, Jay-Dee Geusens put Al Jazira ahead with a perfectly placed free-kick that left the goalkeeper no chance.

The early goal set the tone for a dominant performance from the hosts, who controlled possession and pressed high up the pitch.

Al Jazira doubled their lead shortly after the break. In the 49th minute, Coulibaly delivered a superb pass that sliced through the Al Bataeh defense, finding Ramon Mierez, who finished calmly to make it 2-0.

This marks Al Jazira's first league win since Matchweek 18, when they beat Dibba Al Hisn 1-O. With the win, Al Jazira move up to 36 points and into sixth place in the standings. Al Bataeh stay on 24 points in 12th, with their fight for survival still very much alive as the season nears its conclusion.
