Trump says Iran wants talks as US weighs tougher action
US President Donald Trump said he believed Iran still wanted talks even as tensions soar over Tehran’s violent crackdown on nationwide protests and a mounting US military presence in the Middle East.
Trump, speaking in an interview, said the United States had positioned a “big armada” — including the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group — in the region to deter further violence and prepare for any necessary action.
