Modi unveils projects worth Rs134.3b in Andhra Pradesh

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday inaugurated, dedicated and laid the foundation stone for developmental projects worth Rs134.3 billion ($1.61 billion) in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district, reaffirming his vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047" and declaring that the 21st century will be the century of 1.4 billion Indians.

Addressing a large public gathering, the Prime Minister said India's rapid pace of growth under the "double-engine government" at both central and state levels has accelerated progress across sectors.

"In the last 16 months, the vehicle of development has gained unprecedented momentum. Delhi and Amaravati are working in unison for fast-paced progress," Modi said.

"The 21st century will be India's century the century of 140 crore Indians," he declared.
