Dubai plans six new dedicated bus, taxi lanes covering 13km

1,390 public buses on 187 routes serve over 500,000 people daily

Dubai's public bus network now covers 88 per cent of the city's urban areas.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), revealed that the RTA's public buses transported 188 million riders in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 8 per cent.

With a fleet of 1,390 buses operating across 187 routes, the public bus system now completes 11,000 trips daily, covering approximately 333,000 kilometres and serving more than 500,000 riders each day.

The 187 routes include 110 urban and rural, 64 metro link, and 13 intercity routes.
