Cyclone Montha makes landfall in Andhra

Cyclone Montha made landfall late last night near the Andhra Pradesh coast, with the process lasting several hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The storm is likely to cause severe impact in Krishna, Eluru, East Godavari, West Godavari, Kakinada, and Dr B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema districts, including the Chinturu and Rampachodavaram divisions in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, PTI reported. In view of the danger, the state government suspended vehicular movement in these seven districts.
