Candidates thinking of switching jobs can expect greater personalisation during the hiring process

- BY CHRIS REDMOND

As the new year approaches, it is natural for many professionals across the UAE and wider GCC to reflect on their careers. For some, that reflection will lead to a decision to test the job market. What they may quickly discover is that recruitment in 2025 looks radically different from even a few years ago.

Technology has transformed recruitment from a largely transactional process into a far more data-driven, personalised and, in many cases, human-centric experience. Artificial intelligence now sits at the heart of much of the hiring lifecycle, reshaping how roles are defined, how candidates are assessed and how decisions are ultimately made.

One of the most visible shifts has been the rise of Al-powered recruitment platforms. Agencies and employers are increasingly using AI to support everything from drafting job descriptions to candidate screening and interview analysis. The goal is not simply speed, but quality and consistency.

A strong regional example is UAE-based Aikho, which has developed an almost entirely agentic AI recruitment platform. Its technology assists hiring managers in designing role requirements, posting vacancies, analysing video interviews and producing detailed match insights between candidates and roles. By handling repetitive and analytical tasks, platforms like this aim to reduce bias, improve decision-making and free recruiters to focus on engagement and strategy.
