THREE historic hotels in Gloucester have gone on sale and any potential purchase could see some big changes.

Trio of city hotels go on the market

The Central Hotel, New County Hotel and the New Inn are on the market for between £2m and £4m.

All of the hotels have undergone significant upgrades in recent years.

The Central Hotel in Clarence Street is a Grade II listed building which spans four storeys and has 65 rooms. The current owner is said to have looked into the building being used as a house in multiple occupation (HMO), and the guide sale price on Right Move has been placed at £4m

The New County Hotel in Southgate Street on sale for £4m is a room-only business at the moment, which is said to deliver strong profit margins.

However, it could be changed to full service with food and drinks offered.

The well-known New Inn Hotel is described as a 'rare gem' and was built between 1430 and 1450 by a monk.

It is the most complete surviving example of a medieval courtyard inn with galleries in Britain and offers in excess of £2m are invited.

You can see the Rightmove details for the three hotels below

>> The New Inn Hotel Offers in Excess of £2,000,000

The New Inn has a vast amount of history. It has a charming medieval courtyard surrounded by galleries which gives it a unique, historical atmosphere. Inside you'll find thirty eight individually designed bedrooms each with exposed beams and original Tudor features. There are a number of public areas which offer dining and drinking along with sizeable function room on the first floor.

Built between 1430 and 1450 by John Twyning, a monk, as a hostelry for the former Benedictine Abbey of St Peter, it is on the site of an earlier inn. After the dissolution of the monasteries and St Peter's, the inn passed to the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester Cathedral and was leased to various inn holders until it was sold in 1858.
