Sharing thoughts and prayers after plane crash tragedy

THIS week I wanted to start by paying tribute to three Gloucester residents who we lost in last week's Air India plane crash.

Akeel Nanabawa, Hannaa Vorajee and their daughter Sara Nanabawa were tragically killed in the incident, leaving their family, friends and the wider community devastated.

It is testament to the communityminded and giving people they were that there has been such a wide outpouring of shock and sadness across the city at their tragic deaths.

There are some statements an MP never wants to make and some situations you hope never to deal with, and this is one of them.

I have done my best, along with my team, to support the family with the Foreign Office during this incredibly difficult time.
