TODAY, Thursday sees the June meeting of the Council’s Community Services & Licencing Committee - you can read the papers at stroud.moderngov.co.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=139&MId=1551.
An important item for discussion will be the Stratford Park Vision and Ambition Development Plan.
Stratford Park and the mansion (now the Museum in the Park) were bought by what was then Stroud Urban District Council in 1935.
In the 1950s, my grandfather was the Master of the Parks, and a tree planted by him still stands in the Arboretum, so I have a particular soft spot for this cherished green space.
