Modi's 5-nation tour boosts India's BRICS leadership and champions the Global South
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent 5-nation diplomatic tour—covering Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia— is a significant demonstration of India's expanding leadership role in the Global South and its commitment to building a just and inclusive global order.
The highlight of the visit was PM Modi's participation in the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, followed by a historic State Visit to Brasilia—the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 57 years. During his address at the BRICS Summit, Modi emphasised that India's vision for the bloc's future rests on Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability.
