|April 26, 2025
Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani shares his thoughts on the importance of the Constitution and citizens’ role in upholding its values. In an exclusive conversation with First India, Vasudev Devnani spoke about the importance of respecting the Indian Constitution, the vision behind the newly inaugurated Constitution Gallery, and the need to strengthen democratic values in the country. Below are key excerpts from the interview:
Why do you stress that the Constitution of India must be respected at all times?
The Constitution is not just a legal document—it is the soul of our nation. It reflects the moral and cultural fabric of democratic India. Disrespecting the Constitution is like ignoring the hopes and values of the people. Its basic structure must never be altered.
You recently inaugurated the Constitution Gallery in the Rajasthan Assembly. What inspired this initiative?
The Constitution Gallery is part of the Museum of Political Narratives and was launched on Constitution Day. Its aim is to educate people, especially the youth, about the Constitution and its significance. It features original manuscript illustrations that introduce each of the 22 parts of the Constitution, connecting the document with our civilizational heritage.
Can you tell us more about the illustrations displayed in the gallery?
