Doctor berated by Goa health minister not to be suspended

A DAY AFTER Goa health minister Vishwajit Rane reprimanded the chief medical officer (CMO) of Goa Medical College and Hospital and ordered his immediate suspension, chief minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said the senior doctor would not be suspended.
Rane was seen in a video on Saturday berating Dr Rudresh Kuttikar after purportedly receiving a complaint against him. The minister's actions had drawn criticism and outrage from the medical fraternity and the public.
Sawant said he reviewed the issue and discussed it with Rane. In a post on X, he said, "I have reviewed the issue at Goa Medical College and held discussions with the health minister. I want to assure the people of Goa that Dr Rudresh Kuttikar will not be suspended."
