GROWTH IN INFRASTRUCTURE sectors’ output slowed to 2.3% year-on-year in February, from 3.4% in the year ago month.

The growth halved sequentially from an upwardly revised 4.7% in January, 2026.The slowdown was led by declines in natural gas (-5.0%) and crude oil (-5.2%) production. Six of the eight core sectors recorded a deceleration in the growth rate in February compared with the previous month. Five of the eight components of the Index of Eight Core Industries (ICI) recorded positive growth in February.
