PFRDA Urged to Include Gold ETFs in NPS Investments

Pension funds seek nod to invest in more stocks

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) is considering the demand of pension fund managers (PFMs) to expand the investment universe for the retirement corpus by including gold ETFs and more companies than the top 200 for equity exposure.

With the corpus under the National Pension System (NPS) growing at a faster pace, pension funds are also seeking a window to invest some of the corpus in overseas markets for higher returns, like the Canadian pension funds.
