Hyundai Misses Estimates, Dec Qtr Profit Down 19%

LOWER SALES IN the domestic market as well as exports, saw Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) posting an 18.6% year-on-year decline in its net profit for the October-December quarter at ₹1,161 crore.
The company missed Bloomberg consensus estimate, which had pegged the profit at ₹1,270 crore.
Revenues were also down 1.3% at ₹16,648 crore, missing estimates of ₹16,740 crore. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) was also below estimates at ₹1,876 crore, down 13.7% y-o-y. Margin shrank to 11.3% from 12.9% in the same quarter last year.
