SPACEX IS PREPARING to sell insider shares in a transaction that would value Elon Musk’s rocket and satellite company at well above OpenAl’s record $500 billion valuation, according to people familiar with the matter.

The latest tender offer under discussion could value SpaceX at as much as $800 billion, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information isn’t public. One person said SpaceX could also pursue an initial public offering as soon as late next year.
