Tax Reforms

- FE BUREAU

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) on Wednesday asked industry bodies — FICCI, CII, Assocham and PHDCCI — to sensitise their members about passing the Goods and Service Tax (GST) cuts to consumers.

The board also asked businesses to publicise the new prices for their products after taking into account the tax cuts to create awareness among the masses.

The meeting was called by CBIC chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal to discuss the GST reforms, rate rationalisation and their implementation.

"The objective is to ensure their smooth implementation, address technical queries and ensure wider dissemination of these reform measures," PHDCCI said in a statement.
