Tucked in the lap of the Himalayas, Uttarakhand has a rich cultural heritage.
-
This heritage is reflected in its music, dance and traditions. The backbone of Uttarakhand's folk music is its various musical instruments.Uttarakhand's rich cultural diversity and heritage have many aspects, and the traditional musical instruments here reflect the vibrant cultural identity of this region. For any region, its folk music serves as its identity. Similarly, the folk music of Uttarakhand also reflects its identity. The contribution of instruments in folk music plays an important role in itself. In Hindu culture, gods and goddesses have definitely been associated with music, such as - Veena in the hands of Goddess Saraswati, the flute in the hands of Lord Krishna, the Damru in the hands of Lord Shiva, the conch in the hands of Lord Vishnu, etc. Thus, everyone is also related to musical instruments. No music is complete without the accompaniment of instruments. India is a country of diversity, due to which every state here has its own distinct culture, which helps in making it diverse.
