THE YIELD ON the 10-year G-Sec benchmark hit 6.51%—a four-month high—on Wednesday due to heavy selloff. Later, it retreated marginally and closed a tad lower at 6.48%, compared to 6.49% in the previous session.

The benchmark bond opened at 6.39%, down 10 basis points (bps) from the previous close following a 'fat-finger' (input) error.
