Young star Jake leaves for Exeter rivals Luton

SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Exeter City academy graduate Jake Richards has left the Grecians and has signed for Luton Town.
Having turned down deals to stay at St James Park, the young midfielder made the move to the fellow League One club ahead of the new season.
As Richards is under the age of 24 and a product of Exeter City Academy, the club is entitled to compensation, which is yet to be concluded.
He leaves Exeter having made 32 first team appearances at just 17 - scoring two goals and providing three assists.
City manager Gary Caldwell said: “We are always proud of our Academy graduates and hope that Jake goes on to have an amazing career.
“He has shown incredible maturity, skill, and determination throughout his time with us.
“While we are sad to see him go, we're incredibly proud of the player and person he has become. As with all our academy graduates, he’ll always be welcome back at St James Park.”
