Tide may be turning on footwear choices

The Camellias, apartments for the independent over-60s, there is one bit of us which often seems to cause trouble - our feet.

Sixty-plus years of walking on them have taken their toll, not to mention the awful things we have done to them down those years.

The results are lumps and bumps where no lumps and bumps should be and, as Alan says, 'difficult toes! Alan is our chiropodist of choice, he does home calls, he tells us about his triumphs with the rabbit and cavy club and is always sympathetic about our sore foot stories.

I used to wish that if I was re-born I could come back being good at netball and good at singing because my failure in those two lessons blighted my life at school. I was never chosen for the class netball team and I was actually told by the fiendish Miss Claydon to keep my mouth shut during singing lessons because I put people off.
