Boxes will see belongings returned compassionately

THE family of a man who died unexpectedly are helping other bereaved families in Devon and Cornwall.

Chris Wade, from Sidmouth, was a much-loved husband, dad, grandfather and friend who died of a heart attack in June 2023.

When his daughter Nichola went to collect his belongings, they were handed to her in a plastic shopping bag. This prompted the family to create Compassionate Boxes, a not-for-profit organisation providing specialist boxes with sympathy at their heart.

The group's website says: "Organisations don't have the resources required to be able to deliver the level of caring service they strive to provide. Compassionate Boxes will bridge the gap in a appropriate and sympathetic way.
