BRONZE SAYS RIVALS HAVE ENGLAND IN THEIR SIGHTS AS THEY PREPARE FOR QUARTER-FINAL AGAINST SPAIN
LUCY BRONZE has thrown down the gauntlet ahead of tonight's Euro 2022 quarter-final against Spain by declaring England are ready for their rivals "wanting to knock them off their perch".
England cruised through the group stage, winning all three matches and scoring 14 unanswered goals, and are now favourites to win the tournament.
The Lionesses, who this morning were waiting to see if head coach Sarina Wiegman would test negative for Covid so she could be on the touchline at the Amex tonight, are comfortable in their role as favourites and the fact they now have a target on their backs.
Bronze feels England are feared by their rivals but has warned they are the team everyone wants to beat.
"I think [the group stage] shows what we are capable of," she said. "It shows that we are full of confidence.
