Tories could slump to three seats in the capital amid last-minute race for votes

THE major parties fought an 11th-hour scramble for votes in the capital as the clock ticked down to tomorrow’s election, which polls suggest will see Londoners deliver a historic repudiation of the Conservatives.

Writing in the Standard, Sir Keir Starmer said his own inner London constituency of Holborn and St Pancras underscored a city of “parallel lives” from the council estates of Somers Town to the newly emerging tech hub around King’s Cross.

The Labour leader said: “The Britain I want to build is a country where nobody feels they have to change who they are, just to get on.” He vowed a new spirit of growth aimed at tackling the housing crisis, harnessing clean power and tackling knife crime with 13,000 more police and community officers.

Rishi Sunak’s party could slump to a record low of three seats in Greater London, according to the latest largescale poll by Survation.
