TENNIS star Katie Boulter has said it is a “dream come true” to be British number one — and hopes to use the increased attention and pressure to her benefit at Wimbledon.
Boulter, 26, replaced Emma Raducanu as the top-ranked British woman, with the 20-year-old — who is currently injured — saying recently she sometimes wishes she had not won the US Open because of the intense pressure it had brought with it.
Asked how she copes with being British number one, Boulter said: “I see it as a positive thing. You will always be a bit nervous going into the biggest tournament of the year. I see of course more eyes on me.
