Now we're coming for Labour, says MP Farage after his party wins four seats

The Reform UK leader promised his victory was “the first step of something that is going to stun all of you”.

He succeeded in his eighth attempt to become an MP, overturning a 25,000 Conservative majority to take the Essex constituency by more than 8,000 votes.

It came on a night when the Rightwing party saw a surge in support. It won four seats, with former Conservative deputy chair Lee Anderson successfully defending his constituency in Ashfield.

Reform’s chairman and ex-leader Richard Tice, who stepped aside so that Mr Farage could return to frontline politics, won Boston and Skegness in Lincolnshire.

Ex-Southampton football club chairman Rupert Lowe also won a seat in Great Yarmouth, which had been held by the Conservatives since 2010.

Mr Farage beat Tory Giles Watling, who had represented Clacton since 2017, by 21,225 votes to 12,820.
