Palace star's debt of thanks as he looks to make England debut
IF STEVE PARISH seeks testimony from the Crystal Palace squad when deciding Roy Hodgson's future, the club's chairman will hear a glowing endorsement from at least one senior player.
Eberechi Eze hopes to make his England debut in the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia and knows he would not have earned a maiden call-up if Hodgson had not returned to Selhurst Park on a rescue mission in March.
"I see him as someone who has helped me so much and put me in a position to express myself, and without that opportunity I'm not in this position here," Eze said at St George's Park yesterday.
"I am very grateful to Roy and Ray [Lewington, his assistant manager] for all they did helping me to regain form. They helped me massively with my mental state as well."
