Next up was a home victory sparking an Easter Road singalong for the ages.So to say that Nicky Cadden has embraced one of football's great city rivalries would be something of an understatement. Even if that debut did involve some rare pre-match jitters for an old pro who thought - thought - he was ready for anything.
The Hibernian wingback, an unused sub in October's narrow 1-0 defeat in Gorgie as he worked his way back from injury, is most definitely a winner on any over/under measure of his contribution to this fixture. As an active participant, he boasts a 100 per cent record.
Despite cramp forcing the 29-year-old out of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Dundee United late in proceedings at Tannadice, he has fully recovered from a calf injury picked up in last month's narrow defeat to Celtic at Easter Road.
He'll be in the starting XI tomorrow, barring disaster. If it comes down to desire, there should be no doubt over Cadden's selection, with the wide man desperate to recapture some of the glory that marked his derby debut almost exactly a year ago.
