Aila C3B1 has had a great summer gaining two new qualifications alongside amazing new experiences and lasting friendships with Sea Cadets.

Firstly, she spent a week aboard TS Royalist training ship, where she gained Offshore-Sail Grade 1 Square Rig qualification by being part of the crew sailing from Aberdeen to Inverness, before completing multiple training drills on Loch Ness.

The very next week she then headed back up to Peterhead for Sea Cadets Northern Area Summer Camp with 122 other Cadets from Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England, where she gained her Level 1 Powerboating qualification and led a group for the first time in her role as Clyde South Cadet Voice Representative, in team building activities.

Aila rounded off her Sea Cadet summer by being part of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day parade and laying a wreath at the Memorial Garden after the church service at St Michael's on Sunday, August 17.

Musicleaders

Some of last years advanced higher music students travelled to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on August 29 to receive their music leaders awards which they achieved on top of their advanced higher qualification. Well done to you all!
