A DERBYSHIRE business owner has been left with no means of getting to work after a busy main road was closed following Storm Claudia last week.
Ian Jackson worked as a publican and an actor, and had travelled the world before opening his new store, Collectors Corner, in Wirksworth last month.
The 50-year-old lives near Masson Mill in Matlock Bath, across the road from where the A6 was closed by Derbyshire County Council last week after two trees fell onto the road.
Mr Jackson first caught wind of traffic issues on Saturday evening while on the bus on his way home from work, when he noticed the road had been reduced to just one lane.
Further problems followed on Sunday, when he stepped outside his house to find the road closed entirely.
With no buses or any clear solution, Mr Jackson says he was left with no choice but to close the shop for the day.
