Promised roadworks for town are now not happening

PLANNED roadworks near East Midlands Airport have been cancelled indefinitely.

Castle Donington Parish Council said it was told by Leicestershire County Council that the “promised” works have not been undertaken, and that they will not be undertaken in the future.

The county council recently completed remedial work to traffic calming measures in Bondgate, Castle Donington, as planned.

Remedial works take place to address construction defects, damage, or hazards so that a location is safe, functional, and meets contract or regulatory standards.

Additional works were planned for speed tables along Park Lane. However, this did not go ahead, according to the parish council.
