Morris and Agyemang guide Rams past Rovers

DERBY County made it five straight wins in the Championship as John Eustace savoured his return to Blackburn Rovers but suffered a blow as David Ozoh looks set for a spell on the sidelines.

First-half goals from Carlton Morris, who scored his 10th of the season, and a header from Patrick Agyemang sealed a 2-1 win as Eustace enjoyed a memorable first trip back to Ewood Park since leaving for Pride Park in February.

The result lifted the Rams up to eighth in the table in what was a fully deserved three points, which was marred by an injury to Ozoh after just 10 minutes.

The on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder was chasing a ball back to his own byline when he pulled up with what looked to be a thigh injury.

Ebou Adams was sent on as his replacement as Derby dominated the early stages, which led to a breakthrough when Morris headed in Elder's corner, which was a carbon copy of his strikes against Hull and Sheffield United.

Rovers offered very little in the way of attacking threat, although a strike from Taylor Gardner-Hickman did narrowly clear the bar as they looked for a way back into the game.

However, Derby made it 2-0 before the break when Adams set Morris free down the right, and he waited for backup in Joe Ward, whose delivery to the back post was excellent.

Agyemang managed to hold off the challenge as he met it and sent a header arrowing into the top corner.

Blackburn were better after the break, and they hauled themselves back into the game when Dion Sanderson went to ground for a tackle on Yuki Ohashi.

The ref pointed to the spot after adjudging there had been a foul, and Ohashi picked himself up to leave Derby facing a tense remainder of the second half.

There was a frantic end when Makhtar Gueye raced through from a poor kick from Zetterstrom. The danger was snuffed out and Derby then countered which allowed Lars-Jorgen Salvesen a chance to make it 3-1. He raced clear with Rhian Brewster in support, but he got caught in two minds whether to pass or shoot and did neither as the Rams secured all three points.
