DERBY sank to the bottom of Regional 1 North West after their fifth defeat in a row.

Huddersfield won 33-12 at Haslams Lane to climb up to second and the game swung firmly in the visitors' favour thanks to a burst of three tries in six second-half minutes.

"We played well for about 60 minutes of the game," said Derby head coach Liam Slatem.

"But unfortunately there was a 10-minute spell where we just let it slip and they punished us.

"We have shown that we can mix it with the teams at the top of the table but we have learned quickly how clinical they can be if you give them any opportunities.

"The scoreline probably flattered them but they were really good in that second half spell when they put us away."
