COUNTY TOWN IS NAMED THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE

It is a magnet for tourists but loved by the people who live there too. ZENA HAWLEY finds out why this ‘idyllic’ town has been named the best place to live in Derbyshire

A TOWN described as “quintessentially Derbyshire” has been named the best place to live in the county.

A new list of the best areas to move to in Derbyshire has just been released and a public vote has picked out a clear winner - Bakewell.

The result won't surprise either visitors nor residents, with the latter saying that living in the heart of the Peak District is “totally worth it”.

But what makes the town so attractive? Well, according to travel site Muddy Stilettos, which has compiled a list of the best places to live across the country, it appears to be a place that has everything - a sense of community, access to schools, restaurants, shops and culture, and proximity to other areas - all important factors to consider when deciding where to live.
