Inspectors rate nursing home as 'inadequate'

RESIDENTS WITH DEMENTIA AND DISABILITIES NOT CARED FOR SAFELY, SAYS CQC
A DERBY nursing home has been placed in special measures “to protect people” after inspectors found that the elderly people with dementia and physical disabilities living there were not being cared for safely.
Moreover, residents and relatives felt unable to complain as “an open culture was not promoted”.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated Lavender Lodge Nursing Home as “inadequate” and placed the home into special measures following an inspection.
The inspection was undertaken in response to concerns CQC received from staff and relatives of people living at the home about the quality of care being provided.
The report's publication has prompted the company which runs the home to “apologise for failings highlighted in the report”.
