Grape expectations as top city bar Vines is reopening, and wine is on the menu!

THE owner of a well-known music venue has taken ownership of a bar on one of the city’s most prized shopping streets - and will hold its grand opening tomorrow.

Paul Keenan, who owns the Hairy Dog in Becket Street and Carnivore in Sadler Gate, is looking to expand his portfolio in the city, revamping and reopening the popular Vines bar after its sad closure last year.

Vines can be found tucked away between the Old Bell Hotel and the Tubo Gift Shop in Sadler Gate.

What used to be bright yellow paint on the walls has now been replaced with a refreshing white, and the “suntrap” courtyard to the rear is now complemented by a large, colourful mural.

Inside, Vines has undergone a complete revamp.
