Goodman: It's easy to pick Morris as a top hitman in second tier

SKY Sports pundit Don Goodman says Derby County striker Carlton Morris is an "obvious choice" to be in the top four strikers in the Championship.

- By LEIGH CURTIS & PETER SMITH

Morris scored his 10th goal of the season in a 2-1 win away against Blackburn Rovers before the international break in what has been an excellent start to the campaign.

He has helped the Rams secure five successive wins in the Championship with John Eustace's side looking to maintain that run when Watford are the visitors this weekend.

Morris has been hailed as the best striker to play for Derby since Chris Martin and Goodman told Football League World: "It's a very difficult question (who are top four strikers in the Championship), because you have the likes of Brandon Thomas-Asante, Joe Gelhardt and Jay Stansfield who I wouldn't consider out-and-out strikers.

"Even Haji Wright, is he an out-and-out striker? He'd be on the list as a maybe, with the tools to be the best of the lot. He's not there yet but he has the potential to be.

"So there isn't a monstrous choice for out-and-out options but the obvious choice is Carlton Morris.
