Blades in the driving seat after Rob red
Derby Telegraph
|May 10, 2025
CHRIS Wilder and Liam Manning disagreed over the red card for Rob Dickie that proved the turning point in Sheffield United's 3-0 play-off win away to Bristol City.
-
The Blades took a huge step towards the Championship play-off final as Harrison Burrows - converting from the spot after Dickie had felled Kieffer Moore - and second-half substitutes Andre Brooks and Callum O'Hare put the Robins to the sword.
Dickie was banished in first-half stoppage time for a challenge deemed to be deliberate, with the two managers offering different opinions.
United manager Wilder said: "Of course, there's a big turning point in the game. To get that first goal and for them to go down to 10 men put us in a good place.
"I don't think he made an attempt to play the ball. He just dragged him back.
