'XAVIER DESERVES JUSTICE'

Daily Voice

|

August 06, 2025

“WHEN will justice be served?” That is the frustrated cry of slain Xavier Mitchell’s mother, a year after he was brutally stabbed to death at the home of his nanny.

- BY KIM SWARTZ

Sylvia Mitchell told the Daily Voice that following the latest court appearance of accused Mervyn White on 1 August at the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court has left her kwaad as she cannot understand why the case is dragging on.

The five-year-old boy from Bishop Lavis was left in the care of his nanny, who is also their neighbour on 7 August 2024.

At the time of his murder, it was revealed that White is the brother of the nanny, and when she went to the toilet and left Xavier with the suspect, he was stabbed three times in the back.
